From the center of Hanoi, you cross Thang Long bridge along the direction of Thang Long - Noi Bai highway, at the intersection of National Highway 2, turn left in the direction of Vinh Phuc. Continue going straight then turn right when you see the signboard of ​​Viet Phu Thanh Chuong and Nui hamlet, continue going straight for another 7km until seeing the way to Viet Phu on the right hand, you go straight to Ham Lon.

You can choose bus route 64 running from North Thang Long Industrial Park to Pho Ni (Binh An Trade Center). You ask to visit Ham Lon Lake or Temple Rom stop, get off the bus at the right stop and walk about 01 km to Ham Lon mountain.

3. Climbing and camping in Ham Lon

To conquer Ham Lon mountain, you have two paths to choose from.

Safe route for those of you who want to be safe, don't like to take risks. You absolutely can choose the trail that is flat, easy to go and less bushy. Time to conquer this mountain from 2 hours - 2 and half hours depending on health. First, you need to move through a pine forest. And follow the dirt road leading from the bottom of the mountain to the top. This road is short, the carpet of pine needles is thick, so the path is quite convenient. The good point of this road is you can enjoy the scenery while walking because the road here is quite wide and flat. Next, you will meet a very narrow path next to the shallow stream to climb to the top.

And if you are those who like to challenge yourself, you can choose the path along the stream. Going this road, visitors have to cross streams and dense forests, so the travel time will be about 3-4 hours. With that, visitors need to wear gloves and climbing shoes as well as accept many other difficulties.

When you reach the top of Ham Lon, you will feel fascinated by the attractive beauty and forget all the fatigue. Standing from here looking down, you will feel overwhelmed by the space of mountains and forests overlapping with thousands of purple sims, at a far distance is a peaceful lake and looming villages.

  • Unlike other tourist areas, Ham Lon does not have too many places to sell food and drink, so if you don't buy it from the foot of the mountain, you won't have anything to eat. It's best to bring food from home and just rent a tent and a grill there.
